It’s an escape to a tropical island in a bar of soap! Our Tropical Escape aloe soap evokes visions of fresh & fruity adult libations, cool breezes, and warm sunsets. But more than that vision of exotic vacation spots, you’re also getting the benefits of Aloe Vera gel while you wash away the stress of any long day! And unless you’ve spent the last century or so on a deserted island, then you’ve probably heard tales of Aloe’s various benefits, in spite of the FDA not necessarily agreeing with those benefits. 🙂

Our Tropical Escape soap is made with 5 percent Aloe Vera Gel and skin-loving coconut oil. Its foam is silky and thick, and both the soap and scent are refreshing — like an “umbrella drink” under a tiki hut!

Soap & Scent Pairing

THE SCENT: Being residents of the tropics ourselves, we just love a bright and cheerful scent of tropical fruit. When we closed our eyes and scent tested this one, deliciously brimming with mango, pineapple, papaya, and coconut, we could feel a tropical day!

THE SOAP: Aloe Vera — unadulterated and straight from the plant — is the quintessential tropical plant, in our opinion, and were we to select the soap base first and scent afterward, we would still pair these two.

THE PAIRING: This soap base is as refreshing to the skin as the scent is to smell. There simply was no debate — a tropical scent needed a refreshing soap base, and there’s nothing more refreshing than real Aloe Vera

About Soap

Are You Concerned About Sodium Hydroxide (aka Lye)?

All soap is made with sodium hydroxide also known by the common name “lye” — which, alone, is a caustic substance about which you may have read. Without lye, oils, additives, and water are just sludge (for which you’d want SOAP to clean up!). Without the oils, lye can be dangerous if not properly handled. During the “saponification” process (the making of soap), a chemical reaction between oils and the lye results in a product which is skin safe. Indeed, this saponification creates the product which cleanses! So don’t be afraid to see it in the ingredients list — here or anywhere. In fact, you should be concerned only if someone claims to have made soap which doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide.

Are You Concerned About Animal Testing?

The first recorded use of soap is by the ancient Babylons in 2800 BC. Since that time, we’re pretty sure someone has tested every ingredient in our soaps on animals. But we don’t — and won’t ever — test on animals — nor will we purchase our ingredients from those who do. That’s a promise.
