Description

With 10 percent of honest-to-goodness fresh goat milk {not powdered!}, this goat’s milk & coffee soap not only smells terrific, but cleanses with a thick and creamy lather. And while this savory soap is cleansing, the heavenly scent of vanilla latte wakes you up before you step out of your morning shower.

Be forewarned: The ground coffee beans in this soap make it a “scrubby” soap, so while it’s certainly creamy, it’s also a coarse soap. It’s just another way coffee + caffeine combine get your blood flowing, literally!

Soap & Scent Pairing

THE SCENT: We just love the smell of brewing coffee in the morning and thought a coffee-scented soap would be the ultimate morning wake-up call.

THE SOAP: Tapping our finger on our chin and looking upward (because that gets our creative juices flowing), we thought, “Hmmmm … if we were going to make a coffee soap … “ and realized that coffee+milk was the only way to go. Many use powdered goat milk in their lotions and soap, and we very specifically sought out a true liquid goal milk soap base because, frankly, we don’t use powdered milk in our coffee, so why would we use it in our soap?

THE PAIRING: Creamy milk + ground coffee beans = vanilla latte yummy-ness. Truthfully, we don’t have anything else to say about that! 🙂 Oh yeah — except perfect pairing!

About Soap

Are You Concerned About Sodium Hydroxide (aka Lye)?

All soap is made with sodium hydroxide also known by the common name “lye” — which, alone, is a caustic substance about which you may have read. Without lye, oils, additives, and water are just sludge (for which you’d want SOAP to clean up!). Without the oils, lye can be dangerous if not properly handled. During the “saponification” process (the making of soap), a chemical reaction between oils and the lye results in a product which is skin safe. Indeed, this saponification creates the product which cleanses! So don’t be afraid to see it in the ingredients list — here or anywhere. In fact, you should be concerned only if someone claims to have made soap which doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide.

Are You Concerned About Animal Testing?

The first recorded use of soap is by the ancient Babylons in 2800 BC. Since that time, we’re pretty sure someone has tested every ingredient in our soaps on animals. But we don’t — and won’t ever — test on animals — nor will we purchase our ingredients from those who do. That’s a promise.
