A New Design to LOVE

Nautical LOVE
Now Available!

A customer came to us asking what we could design that was nautical and in a style similar to the “I {heart} NY” craze of the 70s and 80s {right era?}. We loved the idea, but in addition to potential copyright issues {we respect IP!}, we wanted something fresh and unmistakably nautical.

An anchor is unmistakably nautical, yes, but it sure looked like it spelled “LIVE” — which we also want to do, but that wasn’t our end game on this particular design. A ship’s wheel substitutes as the perfect nautical letter O {right?}, and we found this neat font we thought matched up perfectly. But the letters were solid blue and the ship’s wheel has that neat watercolor effect. That’s when we knew we needed a watercolor effect for the letters too! That’s what we did, and this is our end result. The customer loved it, and we hope you will too!

Some designs — the nautical note cards — are shown with the word “NOTES” instead, and there are matching envelop seals {stickers} and address labels. Some products lent themselves best to “LOVE” being on a line instead of a square. Our favorite product was a surprise though. We don’t design many T-shirts, but we just adore this Nautical LOVE T-shirt! How cute would that be out on the boat this weekend?
