This will never increase your price, but your price will reflect a discount, when we include promotional codes.
Short Version
Here Are the Privacy Essentials
Data We Collect, the Reason We Collect It, and How We Use It
Let’s start out by saying that we have trust issues. So what we collect is either anonymized, anonymizable, user-authorized, or user-provided (see Details tab, if you want the… uh… details).
Our trust issues make us pretty strict on who gets our data, which means we’re strict about who gets your data — whether anonymized or not. www.NauticalBoutique.Co doesn’t share any information you provide which may be construed to be personally identifiable information with any third parties unless:
- … The Law Dictates, and we’re forced to do so by a governing agency. An example is responding to a subpoena to provide information. We will lawfully comply.
- … You Asked Us to Do Something, and we need to share it in order to process your request. An example is sending your package via mail courier. As you’d expect, we do need to tell the post office your mailing address, but we won’t tell them what you ordered. 🙂
- … You post a link to another website or blog in a comment. Our website tries to inform the linked website or blog of that link.
Third Parties We Trust and Their Websites & Policies
We advertise products from third-party websites and accept payments via PayPal. When you click product links or buy or pay for products or services, you may be taken to those trusted third-party sites for those products, services, or processing.
We offer ‘social media’ sharing options to make it easier for you to share our pages and posts. We don’t collect personally identifying information via these tools, but those websites may. If, for example, you share to Twitter, you’ll tell them — because they need to know — which Twitter account is yours.
All of these third-party sites have their own policies, and we have no control over them. We review policies and partner only with those sites we trust, but you should review them too and be sure you’re good with them.
Nautical Boutique Co. isn’t responsible for and has no authority over any third-party sites’ policies, nor do we have access to any data third-party sites collect.
If you still have questions, try reading the Details tab {it’s in plain language, but be prepared to be bored out of your mind}.

The Details
Here’s the “Everything On It” Version
Your Consent
If you create a user account at www.NauticalBoutique.Co, you’re agreeing to this privacy policy and consenting to the transfer of the data you provide in the United States.
By clicking “Accept” in the bar across the top of the screen, you’re consenting to this privacy policy.
You control “cookies” in your own browser, and this site doesn’t do anything to override those settings.
We Are Nautical Boutique Co!
Our website address is www.NauticalBoutique.Co {but you knew that, right?}, and we’re based in Florida, USA. We’re work-from-home mermaids, mates, and captains who value our privacy as much as the next mate. That aside, it would go against the terms of our local statutes to include our address in anything considered to be advertising. Like a website. So we hope you’ll forgive that we’re not going to share our home address here. 🙂
To get in touch with the lead mermaid or our captain of designers, use this contact form or call us at 772.288.5000.
Data We Collect, the Reason We Collect It, and How We Use It
Anonymized Data
Session Cookies The site stores non-identifying “session” cookies. Session cookies make the site work as the captain intends for it to work. These cookies are stored on our web host’s server {the service used to make a website work}. As of May 25, 2018, our web host is HostGator. Their privacy policy is here.
Analytics Cookies The site activates anonymized “analytics” cookies too. Via Google Analytics, the mermaids use this data to decide what new products to offer and what maybe customers like “not so much.” You may have read elsewhere that Google stores your IP address, and this can be used to personally identify you. We disagree with that last bit, but Google offers the option to “anonymize” IP addresses anyway, and we use this option, so no worries there. Google may note which pages you view and the like, but neither this nor any other other information Google collects can personally identify you. Google’s privacy policy is here.
User-Provided Data
Name, Address, Email Address, and Such If you register with our site, send us an email, leave a comment, submit a review, or place an order fulfilled by www.NauticalBoutique.Co, or take other action where it’ll be obvious to you that you’re submitting information, your information is used to fulfill your requests and orders or, in the case of approved comments or reviews, posted to the appropriate page or post. We would use this data statistically to note where orders are sent or to fulfill your request(s). We would share it only as needed to, for example, send you a package — we need to tell the post office where to deliver that package, but we wouldn’t tell them what you ordered. Otherwise, we don’t share this information, except as required by law enforcement.
Image Data If you share an image with us, it may contain “EXIF data,” and that data may be used to identify you. We don’t use this information for any purpose, and we don’t share this information, unless you request and intend that your image be posted publicly on our website. If you’ve provided an image for public posting, other users visiting our site may be able to access that EXIF data, if we post that image.
If you’ve shared any information pertaining to this section and wish “to be forgotten,” see the section below, Anonymizable Data.
Other Data Collected
IP addresses We agree with US legal precedence that an IP address is insufficient to identify an individual (unless you’re using a static IP, and then only your Internet service provider can identify you). You should know, however, that our technology collects the one you’re using to visit this website, if you leave a comment, submit a review, or send an email. We may use it to identify spammers {and block those IP addresses}. Otherwise, we don’t share it with anyone, except as required by law enforcement. We share only anonymized IP addresses with Google Analytics.
Web browser or “user agent” We use WordPress as our content management system, and it may collect data which identifies the web browser you’re using. We don’t interpret this to be personally identifiable information.
Account Data If you have an account and you log in to this site, we’ll set a temporary cookie which contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. It just checks to see if your browser accepts cookies, so the site can know “how to act.” When you log in, we will also set up cookies to save your choices for login information and screen display. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after a day.
To request anonymization of this data, see the section below, Anonymizable Data.
Third-Party Data Collection
Product Links We advertise products from third-party websites in compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations. When you click product links and buy or pay for products or services, you may be taken to those trusted third-party sites for those products, services, or processing. Here are some of our third-party partners and links to their privacy policies. This list isn’t exhaustive, and from time to time, we may add other sites’ links. Our promise to you is that we’ll always confirm their privacy policies are in line with our values prior to adding their links, products or reviews.
According to their privacy policies, our third-party partners are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, including, as it applies to them, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you have questions regarding how your data is handled by these third parties or any others, you should refer to their privacy policies.

Payments and Credit Cards For those purchases of products which are manufactured and sold by Nautical Boutique Co. directly, we accept payments via PayPal. We don’t store your credit card or banking information anywhere, nor do we have access to it via any method, including PayPal. We have access to information required for us to fulfill your order, and that’s it. To view PayPal’s privacy policy, click here.
Sharing Options We offer ‘social media’ sharing options via Simple Share Buttons to make it easier for you to share our pages and posts. We don’t collect personally identifying information via these tools, but those websites may. If, for example, you share to Twitter, they need to know which Twitter account is yours.
Web Beacons and Tracking Pixels We don’t set or use web beacons and tracking pixels. Some of our third-party partners may implement their use via links and images on our site in order to better serve advertisements that suit your shopping style. We have no control over that, as they’re independent from us, and we have no access to the anonymous information they may use.
Independent Entities We have no other relationship with our third-party parties, except that we’re also their customer. All third-party sites have their own privacy policies, over which we have no control or authority. We review policies and partner only with those sites we trust, but you should review them too and be sure you’re good with them. Where we interpret policies to be invasive, we opt-out or find non-invasive alternatives.
Neither man nor mermaid at Nautical Boutique Co. has no access to any data a third-party site collects.
Anonymizable Data
Request Anonymization You may request to have some data “anonymized” here. We’ll honor your request, to the extent that it doesn’t cause us to break the law.
Request Image Removal We’re happy to remove images you’ve submitted and that we’ve shared on the site, upon request. Use this form to make such a request.
Once your data has been anonymized or deleted, it will be collected again in the future, as noted in this Privacy Policy, should you visit our site, place an order, make a comment, submit a review, or otherwise interact with the site, after anonymization.
Data Retention
Third Parties There are websites out there in the world with the sole purpose of archiving public websites. We have no control or authority over those websites, even if they capture our website or its data.
Non-Erasable Data From time to time, we back up our website and hard drives, and all data which is ‘live’ at the time of that process is included. This data is stored in a coded “machine readable” format which isn’t readable by human eyes {or mermaids, for that matter}. Due to the coded format, we’re unable to remove any data from those backup files which are stored indefinitely {it’s a lot like being in the ocean… not pinpointable}.
Timetable for Deletion
- Anonymized Data {which can’t identify you anyway} is retained indefinitely. {If it’s anonymous, does anyone actually know it’s even there?}
- User Provided Data isn’t deleted or anonymized unless requested. We hope you’ll be a customer for a long time and, but you may request deletion or anonymization per this policy at any time.
- Other Data Collected isn’t deleted or anonymized unless requested. Honestly, we don’t even look at your IP address unless you’ve done something “walk the plank” worthy, and the same goes for your web browser data.
- Third-Party Data is beyond our scope of authority. You should contact the third-party website you where you wish to have data deleted or anonymized.
Protecting Your Data
We protect your data by:
- Limiting the number of administrative-level users who have access to our site and hard drive data
- Requiring administrators to have stronger-than-the-average mermaid’s passwords
- Encrypting our site, which uses the “https” protocol
- Encrypting your account password, if you have an account with us
- Not Accessing or providing access to your account password {not to administrators, or even the captain}
- Not Utilizing automated services, apps, and plugins which permit users to stay logged in
You can help protect any data you provide us by using a strong password, not sharing it with anyone, and logging out after each session.
Remember that no one — not the captain, first mate, any mermaid, nor anyone else — will ever call you and ask for your password.
Where Your Data is Stored
Your personal data will be stored in the United States where data protection and privacy regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in other parts of the world, such as the European Union.
Portability Options
www.NauticalBoutique.Co uses WordPress as its content management system, and, if you have an account with this website, you should see both export and delete options in your user dashboard, if you’re logged in. If it’s not working out for you OR if you don’t have an account {and don’t want to create one, despite our nautical goodness}, get in touch with us, and we’ll get that going. Use our contact form.
If you submit an anonymization request, you are free to copy that data for your own use.
Breaches
We investigate all reports and suspicions of breaches within 24 hours via our web host, data logs, and other methods {which, frankly, we don’t wish to reveal right here where would-be hackers might see them}. While we’re in process of investigating a breach, we may take the site down, meaning it won’t be available to you. We apologize in advance, if that’s the case. {On the other hand, just because the site is down, doesn’t indicate a breach or suspected breach — sometimes captain just messes up the code for a minute or two.}
If you suspect a breach, please contact us using our online form here. We require whatever information you wish to share in writing.
Opting Out
Cookies You can opt out of cookies use in your browser — even a magical mermaid can’t do that for you — but you should be aware that not everything on our site will work as the captain intends. That’s fine with us, if it’s fine with you.
Newsletters and the Like Should we send any emails, newsletters, or the like, as a subscription feature, they’ll contain an unsubscribe link. We don’t currently offer such a service, so there’s no opting out necessary {that was easy, right?}.
Special Notes for Featured Designers
If we’ve blogged a feature of you or your design, and you wish for it to be be removed, use the link below to contact us.
If we’re featuring your design via RSS Feed from the Zazzle website, your removal of it from the Zazzle marketplace will remove it from www.NauticalBoutique.Co.
If you’d just like us to describe your design in a different way or edit our featured post, just drop us a note — we’re happy to accommodate you!
Anything else?
You’re not serious, are you? Isn’t that enough? Well… okay, maybe not for all of you…
